A Substack Birthday!
We just turned one! I wish that I was describing something else beyond The Pawned Accordion celebrating a year on Substack. Unity among Americans on so many issues that divide us would be my birthday wish along with world peace but I’m fantasizing and that’s not the goal of this post.
Yes, it is now just over one year since I switched from Homemade Cartoons and became The Pawned Accordion on Substack. For those of you who go back to the pandemic with me, I’ve probably done over 1,000 cartoons at this point— most with stories and opinions since I started emailing them publicly on April 1, 2020.
So today is an advertisement for myself and a request. If you like reading the stuff I post, please share one with a friend who you think might be interested in seeing and reading it too. Subscribing to The Pawned Accordion is easy and it’s free but you can also be a paid subscriber if you’re so inclined to be one and I thank all of you who already are!!!
So please forward and share this or any post of mine and the way to sign up for others will appear within that post. It’s simple to subscribe.
All one needs to do is type in their email address in the space within the post that calls for it.
The Pawned Accordion is mostly free, although from time to time I send out posts to only paid subscribers.
Decades ago my father listened to a guy on the radio in Philadelphia named Bernard Meltzer. People called him for advice with their problems and I always thought of him more as a dispenser of do-it-yourself home repair tips than anything else. But sometimes Meltzer had pearls of wisdom of the costume jewelry variety and here’s one…
“A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked.”
At this point I’m probably already scrambled but that won’t stop me from continuing telling stories and offering my views.
Please share The Pawned Accordion with a friend and either for free or fee I hope you will continue to enjoy what you find here…
And here’s another cupcake for good luck to both of us!
